Solar power plants
Transformers for solar, from inverter to grid.
Inverter duty transformers and power transformers for utility-scale, rooftop, park and hybrid solar projects.

Where transformers sit in a PV plant
PV inverters convert DC to low-voltage AC. An inverter duty transformer (IDT) steps that up to the plant's medium-voltage collection system. At the pooling or evacuation substation, a power transformer steps the collected power up again to transmission voltage.
Smaller and rooftop systems may connect through a distribution-class transformer directly at the point of supply.
What we supply
Solar inverter duty transformers rated 100 kVA to 25 MVA, up to 66 kV, designed for inverter harmonics, frequent load fluctuations, continuous outdoor exposure and elevated ambient temperatures.
Power transformers from 3.15 MVA to 50 MVA, up to 132 kV, for the pooling or evacuation substation.
Specifying
What to include in your enquiry
General engineering guidance — final designs are confirmed against your project specification.
Inverter matching
LV voltage and number of LV windings follow the inverter model and block design.
Harmonics
Provide the inverter harmonic spectrum so stray and eddy losses are accounted for thermally.
Cycling
Daily zero-to-full-load cycles; specify the expected loading profile and ambient.
Losses
No-load losses run around the clock, including nights — consider loss capitalisation.
